I’m using it with a FTP server and I must say I’m not very happy with this new version.First I noticed that the FF status bar displayed every few seconds the message “Foxmarks: performing sync”, even when I hadn’t even used my bookmarks (I hardly used Firefox today, so there was really no need for sync). I suppose this useless yet constant activity is probably not helping Firefox to be any faster or to use less RAM. After a few hours I noticed that Firefox was eating almost 450 MB of RAM, with NO tabs open. I don’t know if it’s because of Foxmarks, but IMHO it’s quite likely. Then I checked the Foxmarks log file and realized that in a few hours it had grown to use almost 250 MO of disc space !That’s all I can say for now. I disabled logging and auto sync, but I have no time today for further investigation. I hope that this is just a configuration problem OR that it will get fixed soon….</blockquote></div> The auto sync feature operates much the same way that Opera's does, where it frequently checks for changes in your bookmarks. Even if you haven't changed anything in your bookmarks for awhile there are no guarantees that the bookmarks available online haven't been changed (either by manual editing online or by changing your bookmarks on another computer). There's just no way around the frequent polling if you want the auto synchronization enabled. As far as the memory usage goes that is quite a bit, but Ashley has hardly any extensions installed in Firefox 2 (she doesn't use Foxmarks) and hers was just at 850MB+ of memory last night. So that's not so terribly uncommon.

s427 wrote:

I just installed the new version today.
