So you want that in Vista?

Yeah, in Vista. Remember when XP came out? There were all these programs that make 98 look like XP? Something like that for vista.

Yes, that has been known to happen but the last build (VTP 6) seemed to install and uninstall just fine for me.

It pretty much eliminates the need for Launchy.

By the way, what theme is it that you are using? Looks pretty cool.

It is actually the Zune theme for Windows XP that Microsoft released:

Thanks for helping him out Wadinator! Guess I forgot to mention how to do that in the article.

Re: 5

Below is an excerpt from the following url that explains how to change the visual settings. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308417

How to manually change the visual effects
Windows provides several options to set the visual effects of your computer. For example, you can show shadows under menus. Shadows give menus a 3-D look. You can configure Windows to display all the contents of a window while you move the window on your screen. To make large text more readable, you can display the smooth edges of screen fonts.

Windows provides options to turn on all the settings (for best appearance), or none of the settings (for best computer performance). You can also restore the default settings.

To change the visual effects, follow these steps:
1.	Click Start, click Run, and then type sysdm.cpl in the Open box.
2.	Click the Advanced tab, and then under Performance, click Settings.
3.	Click the Visual Effects tab, and then use one of the following methods:
•	Click Adjust for best performance to have Windows automatically adjust the settings for best performance.
•	Click Adjust for best appearance to have Windows automatically adjust the settings for best appearance.
•	Click Custom, and then select the check boxes for those items that you want to turn on. Clear the check boxes for the items that you want to turn off.

You'll only have to un-select the options for menu shadows, however. There is really no need to select "best appearance" or "best performance".

Here is an important note from the developer:
Known issues that can’t be fixed: You need to turn off “show shadows under menus” visual effects because that will cause flashing shadow when you open start menu.

anyone know where this is done?

At first, I hated the way Vista changed around the start menu. But it really is more convenient this way. I love the built in search. It pretty much eliminates the need for Launchy.

By the way, what theme is it that you are using? Looks pretty cool.
