Can you remember the last time you wanted to create some sort of chart or diagram? I’m sure one of the first thoughts that flows through your head is what tool can you use to get the job done. One of the best programs you’ll find to create the various charts you desire is Edraw Max.

I love when an application makes good use of the Office 2007-style ribbon interface, and Edraw Max does just that. It will even show you live previews of most actions (changing the font, adjust the style, etc…) when you hover over them with the mouse without actually committing to the action first. After using Edraw Max for a short period of time I found that I could create amazing looking charts and diagrams simply by dragging and dropping from the built-in library of over 2,000 items. It’s really a no-brainer once you get the hang of it.

If creating these charts still sounds complicated you can rest easy knowing that Edraw Max ships with dozens of pre-defined charts and diagrams. Just pick one of the examples and tailor it to your own needs.

Here’s a list of some of the different types of charts you can create using Edraw Max:

  • Flowcharts
  • Organizational charts
  • Network diagrams
  • Software diagrams
  • Mind maps
  • Business diagrams
  • Building plans
  • Workflow diagrams
  • Web diagrams

Anyone who purchases Edraw Max also gets all future upgrades 100% free! How cool is that?

–The Giveaway–

We have 10 licenses to Edraw Max (valued at $95.00 each) to giveaway today! All you have to do is drop a comment below providing both your name and email address in the appropriate fields. We obviously need your email address for contacting you in the event that you should win. Believe it or not we’ve actually had winners in previous giveaways get randomly selected, but since they didn’t provide an email address we had to pick someone else.

Just as with all of our giveaways we will be using a random number generator to determine the winners. For this round here is how we’re going to give out the licenses:

  • 1 winner will be picked from comment numbers 1 through 5
  • 9 winners will be picked from comment numbers 1 through however many comments there are.

Entries for the giveaway will be accepted up until December 11th at 7:00PM Central Time.

  35. I have used to use MS Visio for diagramming / mind mapping purposes. When I had spotted this application I was truly surprised. It offers a lot of similar features and seems to work quicker that MS tool (at least on my machine).
