Giveaway: Object Desktop – Customize Windows

Earlier this year we did an in-depth review of Object Desktop, where we walked you through the over two dozen applications it comes bundled with for customizing Windows. Object Desktop includes WindowBlinds, TweakVista, and even Deskscapes 2.0 which will be released early next year.

To use Object Desktop you’ll need to install Stardock Central (pictured above), which is an amazing in its own right. From within Stardock Central you are able to “silently” install all of the available programs, see if any updates are available, and check when the last version was released. If you’re not sure what a program does just click on it and you’ll see a summary of the features in the bottom portion of the window.

I’m guessing that one of the most used applications in the Object Desktop suite is WindowBlinds, which is used to customize the skin of your Windows installation. The latest version, WindowBlinds 6 (review), is even capable of simulating the same blur effect in Windows XP that can be found in Vista:

Object Desktop is provided on an annual subscription basis, and one reason that is good news is that within that years time you’ll get full updates to any of the programs that it encompasses. Not only that, but Object Desktop users are often the first ones to get invited for Beta testing of new applications, such as the upcoming DeskScapes 2.0 Beta!

We have 1 annual subscription to Object Desktop (valued at $49.95) to giveaway today! All you have to do is drop a comment below providing both your name and email address in the appropriate fields. We obviously need your email address for contacting you in the event that you should win. Believe it or not we’ve actually had winners in previous giveaways get randomly selected, but since they didn’t provide an email address we had to pick someone else.

Just as with all of our giveaways we will be using a random number generator to determine the winners. For this round here is how we’re going to give out the subscription:

  • 1 winner will be picked from all of the comments submitted.

    Glad I came back as fast as I did. I use Stardock’s Object Dock and I love it. I think they make great stuff, and I can not wait until Deskscapes 2.0.

    Count me in, I’d love to get the newest version of the ObjectDock program. I’ve never used any of the other parts of the Desktop package. I’ll even be nice and only try for this one and leave all the rest of the giveaways for everyone else. :)
