Thanks so much Mr. Jack:) I promise I won't bother you again, got it all working now. I doubt I'd have figured it all out without your help so I really do appreciate it. Have a great weekend!

What am I doing wrong?

in thunderbird 2 i don't recall having this problem, and i don't have it in thunderbird 3. i just go into the folder, click Ctrl+A to select all, then i click the Right mouse button and select Forward as Attachment in the menu. maybe in 2 they didn't have it in the right mouse menu, so look for it in the Message menu. it should be there like Forward as Attachment or something.

just remember that if you ton of spam, don't select all the messages at once. i did it in batches of 150. for this, just click once to select the first message in the folder. scroll down to the last message you want, and Shift+left click on it to select them all. then again right click.

after you are done, just click Shift+delete to remove all the messages you forwarded (it will completely delete them, not just move them to trash).

Ok, I finally have it all set up. I didn't have Thudnerbird before so I had to get it set up. I had such a hard time with Gmail and IMAP. Apparently, there is a bug and you have to enable IMAP before enabling advanced IMAP controls, otherwise Thunderbird will not let you log in, it kept saying I didn't have IMAP enabled. I spent three hours trying to figure out why it wouldn't let me log in, thought I did something wrong. Then I went onto the Gmail lab help page and the first thing I saw was the bug: "impossible to enable IMAP while Advanced IMAP Controls are active."
Anyway, thanks for all your help. I'm set up and ready to go. I see all the folders and all of my spam is there. However, I still can't figure out how to forward multiple messages. It's not letting me select more than one message. I have to literally open up each message and then hit the forward button. It won't let me select them all. I’ll definitely do as you said and let you know if it works or if I somehow screw it up. I was extremely mad at myself for having to spend so much time on this.

You shouldn't feel bad Jessica, cause i will tell you what got me stuck with it - In thunderbid, the Spam folder was under the Gmail folder, but the Gmail folder had a small arrow near it (in version 3, b4 that, it was a Plus and Minus signs), and you have to click the arrow to see the spam folder. but since i didn't, i thought it didn't download the old spam, so i was trying other things, and hoped i'll get new spam soon. but at the end i guess all i had 2 do was to click that damn arrow :-)

so i am pretty sure you'll manage. and if not, just ask. Good luck.

Jessica wrote:
Can someone tell me how to forward multiple spam emails to knujon. I get at least 200 spam emails a day and the only way I can figure out how to do it is to forward each message individually. It’s just way too time consuming. Jack of all trades, how are you downloading all your gmail spam and forwarding it with ease? Please help. Thanks so much.

Well Jessica, it took me a while to figure out, but its really easy:
1. do what the post said to first have this new option enabled in Gmail - go to Labs, enable it, go to Labels - make sure that Spam is selected - as shown in the screen shot.
2. go to "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" in Gmail, and make sure it is enabled.
3. use your favorite email software to connect to your gmail account with IMAP. If like me, you use thunderbird, or something else with it's Own Junk filter, don't use the Junk filter on this account.
4. when you get connected, just go to the Gmail -> Spam Folder that will show up in your email program, and it will contain all the spam you have in Gmail (or at least it should, and not just new one).
5. now you can select it all, and choose Forward as Attachment (i think this is the best way, and you have it Thunderbird).
6. Forward it to Knujon.

few more considerations:
A. i had more then 1600 emails, so i just selected about 150 at a time, so the Thunderbird won't work to hard, and that it would go fast.
B. not sure, but i believe you should have the From setting, or at least your Replay To option, set to the email you used to register in Knujon. so they know it is you (although just sending it to your personal report address might be enough).
C. u can have Gmail to pull your other email accounts (except for other Gmail's account) to one Gmail account, so it would filter and catch all the spam, and have it sent to Knujon too.
D. watch out from False Positives in Gmail, so you won't miss important emails.

Good Luck.

P.S. Knujon picked Cybernet News post and my comment on this subject - how cool is that :-)
