Since I got my account I don't recall any outage (member since 8/31/04). And I check my email three to four times a day. I had an hotmail account, that got upgraded to the live.com storage but I still want all my stuff to be Gmail. It's one for an other, but thats part of the inconditionnal affection I have for Google. However, just like any web server, ISP POP3 or any service at all in this world is never 100% reliable, you have to pick "the less of two evils". And when I think Microsoft and Google I part with Google.

I haven't had any troubles lately either *knock on wood*! I have had some outages that lasted a few hours in the past and it is always right when you need it the most.

I don't know how GMail works exactly but I think it might just be certain servers that are not functioning.
