For those of you who have not heard of Writely before then you may find this quite exciting. Writely is a word processor that you can use on the web which offers you the ability to edit your documents anywhere.
It will store your files for you and will back it up automatically every 10 seconds (Microsoft Word backs up your file a MAXIMUM of every 1 minute). You can also share your files with other people but you get to choose who can access it!
So why would Google purchase Writely? It is actually pretty obvious because Google has stated before that they eventually want to store everyone’s data, and this is one step closer for them. This may also give Microsoft Word a run for its money and not because Writely has an extensive feature set, but because of the convenience of having access to your files everywhere!
