It looks like Google is stepping up to the plate again and this time it’s because they released Picasa for Linux. Picasa is Google’s photo editing tool that seems to be slowly gaining popularity. It is easy to use and lets you perform almost everything the average user would want to do to a photo. It is by no means a Photoshop replacement, but I use it because it starts a lot quicker than Photoshop and allows me to do some quick editing.
I wonder if this means that Google is making a step towards releasing other software for Linux? If they do they could end up attracting a large and powerful fan base (in addition to the fans that they already have).
