google sync Here I thought Google was only in love with the iPhone but it turns out that they have a little love left for BlackBerry’s too! Proof of that is they recently launched Google Sync which will allow BlackBerry users to synchronize their BlackBerry calendar with their Google calendar. Nice, huh? That means if you’ve entered in events on your Google calendar and you synchronize it with the calendar on your phone, you’ll be able to get alerted with sound or vibration or whatever it is you have your BlackBerry configured to do for alerts without having a network connection.

When you get started with Google Sync, you can specify which Google Calendars you want your phone to sync if you have multiple calendars. If you don’t specify any calendars, it will automatically sync with your main calendar. Additionally, you can synchronize the calendars from your computer or your phone. To get started, all you have to do is go to this site, and then click “Get Started Now.” They’ll send a link to your phone, and you’ll go from there.

Now that Google is showing love for the iPhone and the BlackBerry, I imagine there will be others like Windows Mobile users who are standing there saying “what about me?” I’m sure they’d love a feature like this too! So do you think Google will ever expand further to offer more of their mobile applications and services to a broader audience? I’d think that they’d want to, simply because iPhone and BlackBerry users are only a small portion of the mobile market, but we’ll have to wait and see.
