Because of the forced sign up of the igoogle account for youtubers like me I have switched my search engine to Yahoo. I still use my youtube account just not google. I don’t want a search engine keeping tabs of my searching history to build marketing techniques to target me with, or to sell to other businesses. I just don’t like the principle of it and the privacy pitfalls.

wtf link google account . I linked it to my hotmail and i think it worked. then when i was done i unlinked. Damn this is retarded.. im emailing someone later on

Surprisingly i did exactly the same thing. I first linked it… then i deleted both…. and now my homepage is bing.

After this absurd move of corporate overlord herding its cyber sheeps I abandoned my YouTube account and have been using Yahoo for my searches and Dailymotion for videos.

Another good move is not to use Chrome and stick to Firefox. At least Mozilla is not trying to control my life.

Today i have been forced to link my accounts, so i did and just after that I have deleted my youtube account, and then google account (It was necessary to link them to login to youtube). Then i have removed “google” as default from my web browsers. Next time they can force my azz :]

I don’t like this at all. I don’t want iGoogle automatically logging me in when I want to check my subscriptions at on Youtube so they can have more precise data on what I surf the web for and an email for advertisers to actually link to me.

I wouldn’t argue that Youtube is basically essential in this day and age but I have no qualm switching from the Google search engine to Bing. I know some people enjoy having all their stuff linked to Google like Blogger,Chrome,Gmail and now Youtube but putting all your eggs in one basket is not the smart thing to do.
