Just like every year, Google just launched another April Fools joke that is going to give a lot of people a good laugh when they see it as they log into their Gmail Inboxes:

Note: The “Paper Archive” button is non existent in my Gmail account. Maybe they are rolling it out over time.
Yep, that’s right, Google is launching Gmail Paper so that you can press a single button to have Google mail you (as in snail mail) a paper copy of the message. Here’s what they have to say about it:
Everyone loves Gmail. But not everyone loves email, or the digital era. What ever happened to stamps, filing cabinets, and the mailman? Well, you asked for it, and it’s here. We’re bringing it back.
A New Button
Now in Gmail, you can request a physical copy of any message with the click of a button, and we’ll send it to you in the mail.Simplicity Squared
Google will print all messages instantly and prepare them for delivery. Allow 2-4 business days for a parcel to arrive via post.Total Control
A stack of Gmail Paper arrives in a box at your doorstep, and it’s yours to keep forever. You can read it, sort it, search it, touch it. Or even move it to the trash—the real trash. (Recycling is encouraged.)Keep it Secret, Keep it Safe
Google takes privacy very seriously. But once your email is physically in your hands, it’s as secure as you want to make it.
Here are some other things that Google is careful to note about the service:
- It’s free, but has ads.
- They even print attachments…except for MP3 and WAV files.
- No limit on how much you can print.
- Printed on 96% post-consumer organic soybean sputum so that it is environment friendly.
Oh yeah, and look, even their Paper service is in Beta:

Stay tuned as we feature a wide array of April Fools Jokes throughout the day!
Thanks to MetaMan in the Forum for the tip!

There is also another April Fool’s joke on the home page of Google called T-ISP – Internet Service through Fibre Optics wired from your toilet
But gmail on april 1st was itself considered to be a spoof…but came out to be true..
who knows gmail paper could be the same..??
already have article on it on my blog
This one does not exist in my Gmail account. I wonder if it was just done to certain people?
I don’t think it was actually done to anyone…the screenshot that I took is just from the Gmail homepage. I don’t think they would actually implement anything that would be fake because it may actually anger some people when they don’t know what it is for. All of their jokes in the past have been products or ideas that don’t actually interfere with their services so I doubt a button will ever show up in the Gmail account.
Dude, I actually almost believed this one until I got to the next information page and the photos and descriptions were just re-damn-diculous. Good stuff though!
grr. I’ve been trying all morning to figure out how to get some of my eMails in paper form.. go figure it’s just a hoax.
It is actually a clever idea, but I don’t know how many people would want to wait for mail copies of their messages to come in the mail. Maybe if they were printing the photos, but that would be insanely expensive for them.
