Are these commercials targeted for the US public only? Because in Europe we don’t know the guy (thanks for the Wikipedia link Elijah), plus our sense of humour is quite different. It’s a cultural thing.

I think Microsoft would take that into consideration when creating ads globally. I didn't hear whether this is U.S. only or not, but I imagine it would be.
