It’s Labor Day here in the United States, the unofficial end to Summer, so we just wanted to take a minute to tell those of you celebrating Labor Day to have a great day! I don’t know about where you live, but where we are in the Chicago suburbs, there’s no end to Summer in sight. In fact, we’re having some of the warmest weather we’ve had yet this year.
To those of you spending your Labor Day away from home, evacuated because of Hurricane Gustav, we wish you the best. To those of you not in the United States who have to work today, tell your boss you want a day off and we said that it’s okay. 
I live in Panama and we celebrate labor day on May 1st. I asked for the day off, but my boss said, “No Way, Jose”. I tried Ashley (tongue-in cheek).
Isn’t it ironic that September 1st is the first day of school over here?
By the way, we too celebrate labor day on May 1st.

Most schools start about September 1st around here too — give or take a week or two.
