Happy Memorial Day…

May 26th, 2008

It’s Memorial Day today here in the United States, so we just wanted to stop for a minute to honor the men and women of the military who died serving this country. Additionally, to those members of the military, both past, and those currently serving, we thank you!

Not only is this a day of remembrance, it’s also the unofficial start to Summer. Unfortunately the weather isn’t going to cooperate here in the Chicago area to get out and have a BBQ, but we are still planning to spend some time with our families, so this is the last post of the day.

To all of you in the U.S., have a great Memorial Day!

Its nice to see that the people of this country really enjoy what other have gone through to provide for them. I will be leaving in 1-3 weeks for my second tour in Iraq. It make me proud to know people like you are out there. Thank You for your thoughts and taking the time to place them on your site.

Today is really special because each generation in my family has had at least 1 person in the military. Thanks for giving us our freedom; especially those who sacrificed themselves for it.

There’s a long line of my family members who have served in one military branch or another over the years. My Dad served in the Army back in the late 60’s and my Uncle served in the Army during the Vietnam War. I have only respect for the men and women who are brave enough to do what they do. My best wishes to you, SPC. Hall, on your 2nd tour in Iraq.
