Im a ProE user…. I love everyone here…. HasBothButtonFeature did the trick for me… now if I could do a zoom scroll with the touchpad on my lenovo t500 just like I do it with my regular mouse wheel…

I have an HP Envy 17 3D with Synaptics V7.4 and couldn’t solve the middle-click problem. I found this thread and was about to try the suggestion. Then I tried Shift – Left Click it worked for me. It came to me because I was frustrated with Windows 7 regarding opening Firefox – I wanted to be able to have several browser windows open. The Firefox solution was Shift – Left Click.

Hope this might help some people.
