McAfee Internet Security 2008

Note: This deal is for United States residents only.

Now I’m not the biggest fan of McAfee software, but I know plenty of people who are running it because it’s what came with their computer. Most of them have opted not to pay for subscription renewals because they don’t believe that it is worth the money, which leaves them running out-of-date security software.

If you’re on a budget, but still want to be secure, is currently offering the entire McAfee Internet Security Suite 2008 for a whopping $5 (regularly $70). There’s no shipping fees, and not a single rebate that you have to worry about. It’s a straight up $5 fee to get it shipped right to your door.

What’s even better is that for the $5 you can legally install the software on up to 3 computers. I haven’t used McAfee Internet Security 2008, but CNet gave it a 7.3 out of 10 and said:

It’s not perfect, but in a strictly Norton vs. McAfee universe, McAfee Internet Security 2008 is a much better deal than Norton Internet Security 2008. Not only does McAfee offer more security features than Norton, McAfee integrates them with an intuitive user interface, one that allows you to understand the specific feature as well as tweak its settings. While individual security test scores could be higher, none are deficit, meaning McAfee provides you with more than adequate protection.

In terms of protection the stats seem to show that McAfee does pretty well. It passed the VB100 test when over half of the tested apps failed, and it ranked in the upper half for the retrospective tests as well.

Given that this is an Internet Security Suite it also comes bundled with malware detection, firewall, and more. If you’re on a strict budget this will make quite a bargain!
