I use hotmail/live mail as throw away accounts and they work well for that. I don’t get a lot of junkmail with them. I do get some with gmail and I am starting to get some that slip through but believe it or not, Outlook then catches it and puts it in the junkmail there as I pop my gmail account. Thanks to hotmail for their service and Ryan, thanks for the article.

No but just like windows live more at this moment in time

I get quite a bit of spam in my Gmail account but it never gets past the filter. Does yours actually get past the filter?

Am the other way round. I only use Gmail for all the spam and my windows live account for personal e-mails and people i know, also i find i get 0% of spam in windows live account but loads in my g-mail

I have one Hotmail address for that purpose as well, but it seems like it takes forever for emails to show up after I sign-up for something. Live.com seems to be much better and that is my new “junk” email address.

hotmail has served an important purpose for me for many years — i have two accounts with them that i use as “throw-away” addresses (addresses used to register for various other web services of questionable integrity)
