		<description>I love Linux (have 8.04lts on Ubuntu), would NEVER go back to...you know who, but my God is it really always going to be so hard learning this &#039;tarball, tgz..&#039; stuff? I don&#039;t even know where the programs I&#039;m downloading actually go! (except of course for the auto-install ones) What&#039;s an Archive and so on..Anyway I liked your article and will try and work thru it.

your tar syntax is redundant. 

instead of your tar -xvf foo.tar.gz

simply:

tar xf foo.tar.gz</description>
