How To Join Yahoo Mail Beta By Tricking Yahoo

It is now possible to join Yahoo Mail Beta by changing your content Country to the UK, Germany or France. As soon as you change the setting and return to your email it will ask you to join Yahoo Mail Beta. Make sure you change your content preference and NOT the country for your address.

How to change your content preference:

  1. Login to Yahoo Mail.
  2. Select Mail Options.
  3. Select Account information from the left panel.
  4. Go to Member Information > General Preferences > Preferred Content.
  5. Select Yahoo UK.
  6. Select Finished.
  7. Go to Yahoo Mail.
  8. A page will be displayed that says “It’s the New Yahoo! Mail Beta… and you’re invited.”
  9. Click on “Try Beta Now”.
  10. You can then change your Preferred Content setting back to normal by repeating the steps above.

This has worked for many people so make sure you do it before it gets fixed by Yahoo.

News Source: Google Operating System

  1. Still works as of 4PM EST.

  2. Nice! Ironically, its from the GOOGLE operating system blog!

  3. Yeah, it is pretty funny that the Google Operating System blog is the one who found it.

  4. Well, I’m sure Yahoo won’t be happy, and who better to revel in that than Google. Though I guess they’re probably above such things.

  5. Not that I want to try it but if you switch it back to Yahoo US will it revert your account back.

  6. the beta is also offer when you have a canadian account on yahoo mail

  7. Sweet…. It still works. Strangely, it seems to crash Firefox 2 every single time. I hope Opera will be able to load it.

  8. Yes, you can switch your account back to the Yahoo US without it going back to Yahoo Mail. This is the last step stated in the instructions.

    -Ryan

  9. When I logged onto my Yahoo account a few days ago, it asked me if I would like to try their new Mail service, and I must say, it’s pretty cool! I’m from Canada….so I guess theyre inviting people to join now?

  10. The beta doesn’t work well at all with a mandatory large font size (I have my Mozilla “minimum font size” set to 22 points). Apparently many elements of the user interface are specified in absolute sizes, which is an amateurish mistake that neither the “non-beta” Yahoo Mail nor GMail make.

The beta interface’s inability to work with large font sizes even obscures the “Switch Back” link–how cute. If the final version of this new UI continues to suck so badly, I’ll abandon Yahoo Mail after many years as a satisfied user.

  11. Doesn’t let you log in with the Safari browser. However it will work with Camino, though it will warn you the browser is not supported.

  12. HOLY CRAP!!! IT STILL WORKS AT THE TIME OF THIS COMMENT!

Thanks so much for the news, Ryan!

  13. Still working at 21:15 Eastern time, US.

  14. Doesn’t seem to work if you use sbc yahoo dsl, the opetions are different. =(

  15. It didn’t work for me ;-(

  16. Just worked for me using Yahoo United Kingdom.

  17. I wouldn’t waste your time. It’s ridiculously slow to load.

Can I roll back please ???

  18. Do I log back to Yahoo Mail before clicking on Accept in the TOS screen?

  19. The Firefox crashes with Y! mail beta are gone with FF 1.5.0.2. In 1.5.0.1 there have been some strange issues with AdBlock (and the normal Yahoo Mail).

And yes, it’s loading very very slow and you can switch back to the old version.

  20. If you want to switch back to the old interface simply select the “Switch Back” link located near the “Yahoo Mail Beta” logo in the upper right corner.

    -Ryan

  21. Thanks for sharing this! I’ve just switched content from Australia to UK as instructed, and the invitation is still open.

  22. Most of these AJAX heavy sites take a lot of time to load the first time you load the page on your browser. The 2nd time onwards the loads are much faster, because many of the files get cached by the browser.

  23. wowh its very good…

But I am missing some options like Addresses, where in present version I can categorise the Ids adn make some lists so that I can send one mail to many persons just using the list name.

If u cna add this feature to it , It works well for me.

    Bye

  24. But it didn’t occured for me. I did n’t get the beta mail option.

I’ve found only my Yahoo Mail logo changed to
Yahoo Mail Uk & Ireland. Nothing more. No option for Beta………

  25. ITS GREAT!!!! MAILS R MORE EASY FOR READ…….

  26. Goood but it’s more slowly

  27. It is quite a bit slower which is disappointing to me. It is definitely not enough to pull me from GMail!

    -Ryan

  28. I have it too….

  29. If you are not redirected to the page that says “It’s the New Yahoo! Mail Beta… and you’re invited.” (step 8), you can manually go to the url below.

    [uk.f342.mail.yahoo.com]

replace f342 with fxxx (3 digits number) in your address bar. The number are auto generated.

  30. Hi! It is great. But, too slow in loading. Appearnce is good and easy to read mails. Thanks to assist us to get the service. Good Job. Keep it up.

  31. Awesome. I’ve stopped using gmail ENTIRELY thanks to yahoo beta! And they *actually* respect user privacy unlike evil gmail

  32. Woah, its still working, and it doesn’t switch back when I change my prefered content to US

  33. It works! THANK YOU!

  34. No problem, enjoy it. I have had a lot of issues with it and Firefox and I have switched back to the “standard” Yahoo Mail.

    -Ryan

  35. Have you had problems with it? I’m using it and so far it’s OK, hope to have none problems in the future.

I have even “discovered” a link that let you try the new Yahoo Mail no matter where your account is registered:

    [uk.docs.yahoo.com]

I have tried with two of my Yahoo Mail accounts and it works, both of them were registered with an address in southamerica where I reside.

    Regards!

  36. Forgot to mention that you have to select the “Try it Now” button ;)

  37. Nice Alfredo, it worked too! Thanks

  38. Glad this trick is still working for everyone!

    - Ashley

  39. I’ve tried this Beta version by clicking “Try it now” somewhere at the end of the mail my friend sent me. Just have to wait a few days. However, its loading is just toooooooooooooo slowwwwwwwww so I switch back. I think Yahoo must do sth more to it before it become official.

  40. Still works. The site can be slow at time compared to the Classic Yahoo!Mail. Will take some getting use to as did the beta version of the Maps.

  41. Just too darn slow to load so switched back to classic which also seemed to reduced the amount of memory Firefox was using drastically.

  42. thanks for that info ryan..i actually had a hard time changing my mail account back to beta..thanks!(‘’)

  43. On yahoo classic all you have to do is click on “All New Mail” in the in the top-right corner and it will automatically switch to the BETA version.

  44. Quite an easy way out of mail classic

  45. thanks for the tip. it worked!
