I’m not a big fan of desktop widgets, but when I saw this clock I have to admit that I was pretty impressed. It displays both the date and time wrapped up in a beautiful HTC-style skin… all of which sits comfortably on your desktop.
This will sit on top of your desktop, but you have the option of whether it stays on top of other windows. You can also choose from a few preset positions, or manually drag it to the exact spot you want it to appear on the screen. After you’ve got it exactly where you want it just right-click on the clock and choose the “Lock” option to prevent it from accidentally getting moved around.
The only thing I don’t like is that it always shows the Taskbar icon, which I find to be annoying for a simple utility like this. Hopefully a future version will include an option to hide the icon or at the very least move it to the System Tray.
On my system this was using virtually no CPU (consistently sat at 0%) and used about 17MB of memory. So if having a stylish clock on your desktop is something you’ve been longing for I have a feeling you’ll be willing to trade a few system resources to use this.
