Joost May Get a Boost with VH1 Unprecedented Arrangement
It seems as though all of the hype over Joost has settled down, way down. In fact, it’s been a while since I’ve seen Joost in the news, until today. This week Joost and VH1 are expected to announce an unprecedented arrangement that may just give Joost a nice boost.
Facts about the Deal:
- VH1 will premier their entire season of a new series called “I Hate My 30s” exclusively on Joost.
- The show will start on Joost on July 16th
- This is 10 days ahead of the actual premier
VH1 is owned by Viacom who also happens to be an investor in Joost. Makes sense now, doesn’t it?
What is “I Hate My 30’s?”
It appears as though Joost and VH1 are looking to target the 30– something crowd because “I hate My 30’s” is all about the changes that adults go through when they hit 30. There will be eight half-hour episodes.
Creating an online presence for TV shows is something that we’re starting to see more and more of lately. It’s a good way to create hype before the actual TV Premier as VH1 did last year. Both “The Surreal Life” and “Hogan Knows Best” debuted on their website before it premiered on TV, and must have proved successful if VH1 is going at it again.

Joost – Not a lot of content to choose from, the quality isnt great and some blockiness is evident. Lets see if Viacom can give ” joost a boost”.
I think they need that boost because like you, I think content is lacking which is one of the reasons I didn’t stick with using it.
