KlipFolio, the virtual news center has released KlipFolio 4 (in beta), with a new mini-sidebar so that you don’t have to give up any of your desktop space for all of your important information. In case you’re unfamiliar with it, KlipFolio is a personalized dashboard, a collection of “Klips” that are chosen and completely customizable by you, the user with a built-in alert feature. With the previous version, your desktop could have potentially been cluttered up if you utilized several of their hundreds of clips available. The new mini-sidebar is a great addition to KlipFolio to help keep you up-to-date on all of your important news, weather, mail, etc. Here’s what else is new in KlipFolio 4:
- Klip Sidebar
Place your Klips on the edges of your desktop so they’re always there when you need them.
Make your Klip sidebar really tiny and leave room to get stuff done.
- Klip Strips
Keep your Klips onscreen along thin strips at the top or bottom of your desktop.
- Multiple Sidebars and Strips
Arrange your Klips using as many sidebars and strips as you want.
- Klip Groups
Keep your Klips organized your way with new Klip Groups.
- Liquid Klip Movement
Creating a great Klip layout is now easier than ever.
- Frame Klips
See larger, resizable images and webcams in Klips.
- System Monitoring Klips
Track your system’s CPU and memory usage in real time.
- New Stuff for Developers
New script objects, styles and tools for developers. More…
- Send to Friend
Share things you’ve found in KlipFolio with your friends and colleagues.
- And Much More!
See the release notes for more new features.
It’s important to note that version 4.0 is in beta and may have some glitches and bugs that need to be worked out. They have a bug reporting process that you can utilize to help them identify these glitches and get them fixed. Some of the more popular Klips for KlipFolio 4 are YouTube, WiFi Monitor, Slideshow, XBox 360 GamerCard Tracker, and Flickr Explore. As with KlipFolio 3.1, this version is all about customization, from resizing your klips, to skins, and of course, content.
