Even though Microsoft’s new Vista theme didn’t impress me very much I do have to say that they made a smart design move with the new Office 2007 theme. The two current themes available in Office 2007 Beta 2 are not that appealing to me. One is a light blue color that seems to give a soft feeling to Office while the other theme is black and is kinda overbearing. However, their new silver theme looks like it will be just right for me since it is smooth and actually has a sleek look to it. Check out the different themes above and let us know which is your favorite.
Also, Microsoft has removed the rounded corner in the upper-left section of the Office Suite. If you don’t remember what the rounded corner looked like then check it out in this screenshot and compare it to the image above. It is a drastic improvement that shows Microsoft is listening to what the users want.

anyway to get those new themes?
Open MS Word…
Click on the File Menu Button (Upper Left Office Button)
Click ‘Word Options’ at the Bottom of the Drop Down Menu
On the first set of Options look for ‘Color Scheme’ there are currently two options, Vista Grey and XP Blue.
The Vista Grey is the Black one and can be used in XP but is turned on by default on Vista.
Windows XP Blue can also be used in Vista, but is turned on by default in XP.
The Silver theme is the only new one which is a little disappointing because that is the one that I want to use. The others can be accessed in the options as Adrian explains above.

Uh, am I the only person who actually HATES Office 2007?
I prefer – and switched back to – Office 2003. I don’t want themes, I want FUNCTIONALITY, and Micro$oft f*cked up royally with Office 2k7.
Really? I like the new theme and design because it makes Office more usable for me. I have found a lot of new features that I never even knew about because of the new Ribbons, which was the intention of the redesign.
Wow thx
