I definitely understand where you're coming from because it is always a good feeling to use the products produced by the underdog, and Google was just that several years ago when I started using some of their services. Now that they are becoming so big it makes you wonder if there is another underdog out there that you should be using. :)

 That is exactly what I was thinking. If I built an application that millions of people used I would surely want to make it the way that I want to. I wouldn't want some other company telling me what I can and can't do in it...that's just ridiculous.

Ashley said the exact same thing. She said to just wait until Google is as big as Microsoft and then everyone is coming after them. While I'm a big fan of several Google products, I think Google needs to put themselves in Microsoft's shoes.

Google is all grown up now & should stop crying to mommy. Google is garnering bad vibes just as Microsoft did with its bullying tactics (Apple is no better). This is ridiculous. I expect Google's reasons for crying will change when the finger of the law gets pointed at them instead.

I agree. Google's claim should have been thrown out of the courtroom. Windows is Microsoft's operating system, not Google's, so MS should have the right to put what they want in it. Of course MS's software is better integrated, because both software parts are by the same developer. MS really did well in integrating search into the OS. If Google wants to compete, they should have to do some innovation on their own. It's nonsensical that now Microsoft has to do the development for their competitor's product!

This makes as much sense as Microsoft forcing Google to put an MSN web search option into Gmail.

Well in this case you have to remember Google would not go after Apple. Google is trying to be friends with Apple(see Youtube iphone Appletv) so they would not attack Apple in this case. But overall I think your right why shouldn't they require Apple to do the same. Still though burn IE!!
