In the ZDNet article it said the name of the Microsoft representative that told them the information so it didn’t sound like they were making it up. Here is the quote:

“We will officially launch Vista, Microsoft Office 2007 and Exchange 2007 on 5 December,” said David Hipwell, a Windows client sales professional at Microsoft.

According to Microsoft’s Press Pass web site, is that Vista is still on track for “for worldwide availability to its volume license business customers in November and worldwide general availability in January.” So I’m guessing ZDNet UK was wrong.

Interesting that the ZDNet article was taken down, ZDNet reports that the article is no longer available.
