Finally, Vista 5365 (The April CTP) has now been released and surprisingly it was done on the weekend. Microsoft Connect testers can jump over and download it, but for those people that aren’t testers you’ll have to scrounge around for a Torrent.
This build is 5365.winmain_idx05.060419-1800 (complete build name is listed below) and has quite a few stability updates and a few other features including the User Account Protection. In this build you will also find:
- Sidebar Fixes/More Gadgets
- Improved Driver Support
- Welcome Center Changed (Updated)
- Several Bug Fixes
- Improved Install (Faster etc..)
They have released both the 32-bit version and the 64-bit version, however, it is only the 32-bit version that has been released to the BitTorrent networks right now.
The complete build name is:
vista_5365.8.060419-1800_winmain_idx05_x86fre_client-staged-dvd-LB2CFRE_EN_DVD.iso
for those of you who like to know that sort of thing.
if i download the iso file ‘Download The Vista 5365 Torrent’ it is 30 kb and what must i do with this file?

You need to have a BitTorrent downloader such as Azureus, or Opera has this ability built into it.

For those people looking for a key, you can go to [thehotfix.net] and use the build 5342 key they provide.

the key of the build 5342 does not work for the 5365, it asks me to activate it online same by stripping it it does not go how to make?
The 5342 key does work but it will not get around the activation. There is currently no good workaround method for the activation. Some people have claimed that they call Microsoft and activate it without them even questioning it. Doing that is up to you.

You can shut down the activator like this
Start > Run > msconfig > Permit Folder “Services”
uncheck the “Software Licensing Service”
uncheck the “SL UI Notification Service”
Apply Close Restart Your machine will then tell you, this machine is unlicensed!
I found this from another site, and ive tested it. It works, and kicks buttox maximus.

By using this method to bypass the activation the Control Panel and all Windows Explorer windows will be very very slow to load (as reported in many cases).

The “Download The Vista 5365 Torrent (32-Bit)” isn’t working… Bittorrent client initiates it, but it times out when at the “connecting to peers” stage. Then it comes up with a message that says “Problem connecting to tracker -
Not sure why, but my previous post got truncated. The error is a 10061 – connection refused.
I am not sure why you are getting the tracker error but we were forced to remove the links anyways from Microsoft

In regards to Vista 5365 and Aaron Recine
comment on April 25th, 2006 at 6:47 pm is fine BUT DO NOT restart your putter.This will cripple alot of vista’s controls including explorer! Do the hibernate thing instead. This will save all your changes and your activation countdown will go away and will tell ya “this copy of windows is not activated” Cool hey?
So load up all your apps that require restart and uncheck SL UI & Software Licencing and hibernate and er ready to go.
If you need to restart putter just do the above again.
