I didn't realize the Microsoft Money had ads when you have to pay for the software, and if Works has popup ads I think that is about the worst thing that they can do. Hopefully they won't go that route.

You bring up an excellent point, however. Google Docs is not ad-supported and given the choice people prefer freed without ads. Of course, maybe Google Docs will eventually have ads.

I think Microsoft has much more potential with ad-supported free music downloads.

I can guarantee you that eventually Google will find a way to make money from the free version of Google Docs. Right now they are just looking for market penetration. Give them time. After a while you'll see targeted ads related to your document just like GMail.

It's crazy an adds infested copy of works which needs 1GB of RAM to run. Being free and able to support the 07 office file formats our steps in the right direction but I have to ask the question like Mohan why do microsoft need to make more money by pushing adds on people we allready have them in messenger. Ideally I would like to see a works that supports enough features for home users and until that comes about I will stick with open office.

Well this pretty cool that they are making it free of charge. But what I don't get is they make so much money from other stuff so why make is ad-supported? Especially when there viable office suites that are way better than Works that are not adware or spyware bundled. Oh well either way it is still pretty good.
