Getting your music and video library cleaned up so that all of the tags look nice can be a very time consuming project. There are plenty of apps out there that try to lookup the tag information online, but they don’t always work that well. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and do the work manually.
If you are at the tipping point where you are going to try and tackle the tag updating yourself I highly recommend taking a look at the free TigoTago app. It will let you navigate to folders on your machine that contain music and videos, and will present you with a spreadsheet-like layout for updating the information. Editing one of the fields is as simple as double-clicking in the cell and changing the content. Once you’ve made all your changes you just hit the save button in the toolbar to commit the changes you’ve made.
The app also has a lot of other features that are nice including find & replace, selecting/updating multiple cells at the same time, ordering/numbering files, generating filenames from tags or tags from filenames, and searching online sites for album information. In all it’s a pretty powerful app, and can be an excellent tool for helping to clean up the tags in your music library.
