Here’s the thing: I think that people are afraid of change and that they don’t want to learn to work with some unknown OS if they already know how to do the same stuff on Windows. Over the course of a year, I’ve noticed how it’s actually easier to use the command line than to use apps with a GUI. It’s just one of these “you gotta see it to believe it” things. That of course doesn’t mean that I prefer a text-based browser over Firefox.

I echo with quote #5. Information technology has done so much good to mankind, I don’t imagine our civilization without it. However, I think it could be further focused on helping poor nations to raise their life standards. Africa is a good example.

I’ve tried to grasp Unix for many years but it still eludes me. Has anyone tried using Unix whilst high? Does it help?
