MySpace Has An Instant Messenger, Too!

How many instant messenger services does one person need? As many as they can fit in the system tray! I just noticed that MySpace has released their own instant messenger (I don’t know how long it has been out), and in my opinion it must be because people still have room left in the system tray.

So you probably want to know what kind of great features it has, well, all I will say is that it is an instant messenger and has instant messenger features. Pretty soon companies like Dell will be releasing their own instant messengers and guess what, they won’t do anything different than what Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, and AOL have already done. I guess we just have to wait for FaceBook to come out with their own messenger service now that MySpace has one :D .

  1. It’s laughable really. The only ones you could ever need are WLM, Google Talk and Xfire. Google Talk is a Jabber client, meaning that should you wish you can use transport servers to allow you to talk to AIM, YIM, ICQ and MSN.

Windows Live Messenger is actually quite a nice program, once you apply the A-Patch. Whilst you can talk to WLM contacts in Gtalk with the aid of a transport, as so many people use the Messenger service it makes sense to be able to easily add them in Messenger as I get new contacts every few days. Plus WLM has file transfer and group convos, features sadly lacking from GTalk.

Lastly Xfire is the essential IM for any gamer, due to its game tracking, file downloads, screenshots and in game conversation options.
