It seems as though there are some big fans of the Mac OS Leopard Dock that will be launching later this year with the new operating system. Well, they might be Leopard fans, but they’re running Windows. :)
I’m talking about a developer who took the latest Beta version of the free RK Launcher application, and bundled skins, icons, and plugins together in a single package that give this Dock clone a true Leopard feel to it. Here’s the result of the hard work:
- 7 different languages: English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Turkish
- Integrated KKMenu simulates the Stacks feature on the Leopard Dock (pictured above). Here’s what the configuration of the Stacks looks like:
- Over 175 wonderfully reflective icons are included for the most popular apps
- Screen capture utility that’s actually pretty useful for taking fast screenshots
- Mac-like calendar docklet
- Shutdown manager so that you don’t have to go to the Start Menu to turn your computer off or restart it
- Address book
I tried this out, and I have to say that I’m really impressed with all the eye candy it has to offer. If you’ve been itching to get your hands on a free Mac-like dock for Windows then I don’t think it could be any easier than this!

well, it installs just fine but it gives error when i try to launch it. i forgot the error message but it just doesn’t work
not working for me either! the error message sais: Runtime errpr!this application has requester the runtime to terminate it in as unusal way…

Hmmm. I’m running this on Vista so there might be some libraries or something that it needs for it to work on XP (I assume both of you are running XP). Unfortunately I don’t see anything mentioned on the requirements page.
I use Windows Vista and I’ve the same problem.

If anyone is still having this “runtime error” problem, here’s the solution: edit the file “itemlist.conf” and delete the whole [rkdockitem] entry about iCal (at the end of the file). Save and run, it should work (I’m running Windows Vista too)

I can’t get over the fact that I didn’t have any troubles with this whatsoever, but thanks for the workaround! I’m sure a lot of people will appreciate it.
We have uploaded a new fix for all those users that received the “runtime error” when they tried to launch RK Launcher. iCal was in fact the docklet causing this issue. We have replaced iCal with a newer version and the problem seems to be gone for good. It will be part of the next release…

it does work just extract the files after dat press on the one dat says rklauncher da picture has a rocket……….it work great for me ….it might have a viruse problem i had a desktop nd wen i used it on it my desktop crashed…i had to pay 80 dollars for the repair just be sure to have a good antivirus lik nod32 or kaspersky…….ur welcome byeee
