I use about 3GB but I don’t use gmail but my own domain and I’m not deleting any e-mails since I started using it (1998)

3GB sounds like a lot, but is it really when you have almost 10 years of email? Any idea on how many messages that is?

I got in the habit of deleting emails from back when webmail providers didn’t offer huge amounts of space. So even now with all the space I have with Gmail, I still find myself deleting messages that I probably won’t need.

Now that you say that I'm surprised these email programs don't tell you how much room your emails are taking up on your computer...and especially which ones are taking up the most room! Sounds like something Thunderbird should include in the next release.

I don’t know off hand since I really don’t store much on web based e-mail. The bulk of my stored e-mail is off-line with Thunderbird.
