Well, Opera 9 preview is my default browser on both Ubuntu (Linux) and Windows XP. Sure there are a few bugs but I think that's ok because there is a great team that makes weekly builds (that just fun, you live with the bug for a hole week, then you're liberated)

Of course bug free version is 8.53, but I can wait so long. Opera 9 has better processing, stronger features and I consider it to be ahead of both IE7 and Firefox 2. (I feel like they are playing catch-up, but are leading browsers : http://marketshare.hitslink.com/report.aspx?qprid=0 )
I guess it's genuine love or something :D

I agree the title was not what I should have chosen and I am a big Firefox fan. I have used the new Firefox 2 and I like it but I am not overly impressed with it. For about the past week I have been using Opera and I do really like it. They just fixed the last of the GMail problems that I had noticed with the build released today.

Not a very good title for your post topic. You should of said. "Opera 9 Technology Preview 2 (TP2) does not work well with GMail." Anyways I have noticed you are a big fan Of Firefox. Well do a test with the latest Trunk and branch builds and you could say that "Firefox 2 Is Not Ready For Prime Time"

Please note that this article was released on Februrary 8th, which is when Opera 9 TP2 was first released. At that time the GMail page would not even load. There have been significant advances since that time.

You are saying that a program preview should make sure it works with a beta website? Have you ever thought that maybe Gmail needs to make their site Opera compliant?

http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/operaStuff/acid/

The Opera web browser is one of only a few that passes the Acid2 test to render a webpage correctly. I would say the problem is with Gmail.

I would also guess that GM will not be changing the design of the seats in the Corvettes so Walmart seat covers will fit them.

That is also true, and we all know that GMail is notorious for changing things and breaking applications. Nothing new there :) .

It should be mentioned that web application developers also have the responsibility of making their apps work on various browsers. All the onus is not on Opera. Gmail used to work in Opera 8.5 and then stopped. So the Gmail developers changed something in the code.

I understand that it is a techical preview, but I was just warning people who were going to test it the first day it was released like I did. I definitely give Opera their props for as far as they have come since the first TP2!
