The Wordpress.org stats are interesting. Just goes to show that the tech savvy prefer Firefox over anything else. But what interests me most is that safari has a sizeable lead over Opera.

I had a look at the Google Analytics stats on my site a few months ago. I too was surprised at the slow take up of IE7. Of all Internet Explorer visitors to my site it is roughly a 50/50 split between IE6 and IE7.

It just goes to show you cannot assume everyone runs the latest software, and it pays to make sure your web site displays well on as many different browser versions as possible.

Have a delve into your Google Analytics stats. I think you'll be surprised at what people use. I'd be interested in seeing your results.

One thing it isn't indicative of is the blogging tools that people are using - considering it's all done with Wordpress. That would be an interesting pie chart too.

I don't know where you got your information from? These are current stats.

Either way, regarding IE7. IE fans that I know seem to like IE6 better and then everyone else just uses Firefox, so IE7 is more or less useless.</blockquote></div>
Firefox market share is about 14% right now according to Net Applications which I linked to in the article. The most I've ever seen reported by some sites is 20%, but I think Europe might be higher.
