But Apple hasn’t figured out how to make it easy to use, they have simply stripped all the functionality out that might make it complicated. All you can really do is start up applications, applications that don’t otherwise interact. Every app has its own incompatible and ad hoc way of connecting to Picasa, Facebook, getting files, sending files, managing files, etc.

The iPad is all style and graphic design, a crappy operating system, and great third party apps. Actually, the whole thing reminds me of a really pretty version of MS-DOS in its limitations. If I could replace Apple’s crappy software on my iPad with Android, I’d do it in a heartbeat.

It is funny how history repeats itself. So Mac controls the hardware and OS platform and the incumbent creates an OS that runs on a variety of hardware platforms. Sound familiar ?

Here is the reality Apple creates a good product. That it. It does what it supposed to do. And to their credit they do it well. But where they fail ( repeatedly ) is cooperation. They only ingrate when they get all the benefit

The fact that he’s taking the time to attack Android means he views it as a threat, and rightly so.

I think he knows that there are few companies out there that have the influence to design something that is so well accepted, and Google is just that company. The fact that they already have an SDK available has to really keep Jobs up at night biting his nails.

There are too many things, as you pointed out, that don’t justify the $1800 pricetag. And I did see that article/video of the girl asking Jobs for a picture. I’m not really surprised that he did that though, because from what I’ve heard he’s not all that friendly.

That’s a good observation, and Jobs will of course do anything he can to minimize the attention given to products that aren’t their own. I’m still a little shocked that he brought the Kindle into the conversation when Apple doesn’t offer a competing product.

What about that irreplaceable battery? even 5 hours doesn’t cut it for me. my Dell XPS 1210 provides 4.5 hours and I carry 2 batteries and use them both everyday.
