Pingdom Tools 2.0 just launched, and it's a free tool that any website designer will surely love. The AJAX-powered service accepts a URL, and in return it graphs out the loading time of the website showing what files caused a slow load time.

Yahoo to Acquire Zimbra for 350 Million

All along I had been wondering why Yahoo hadn't acquired Zoho (Online Office Suite) yet. In fact, back in July I asked this very question and I suggested that Yahoo seemed like a likely buyer because Microsoft has no need for them, and Google has their own Office Suite. Now I know that Yahoo had no need for Zoho - they were going after Zimbra, an Online Open Source Office Suite.

As the saying goes "imitation is the best form of flattery." If there's any truth to that I would have to say that Opera's ego has got to be growing quickly. Why's that? Back in April Opera 9.2 introduced a new feature called Speed Dial. It gives users 9 shortcuts that are aligned in a grid-like fashion for quick access.

If you take a screenshot yourself you probably sit there messing with the dimensions and cropping the image until it is just right.

Firefox Vulnerability Exposes Extension Variables

Another vulnerability has been found in Firefox, and this one makes it possible for a hacker to retrieve the settings and variables used in extensions. The person who discovered the flaw was able to steal a dynamically generated password created by the Fire Encrypter extension.
