MobileMe Users Are Going Phishing

As though MobileMe users haven't had enough issues do deal with since the service launched with outages, incorrect descriptions of the service, and more, and now many of those users are going phishing. What we mean by that is, hundreds of MobileMe users are getting caught up in a phishing scam that targets the service, and they are giving out their credit card information.

Best Buy To Start Selling The iPhone 3G

Last year about this same time, rumor had it that Apple was preparing to allow their "revolutionary" iPhone to be sold in Best Buy stores. One site, AppleInsider said on August 3rd, 2007,." Interestingly enough, Best Buy never did get the opportunity to sell the original iPhones in their stores last year but they just might get the opportunity to sell iPhone 3G's this year.

MobileMe and Gmail Outage Yesterday

Yesterday was a day of outages for MobileMe and Gmail. Apple's MobileMe, which had a rocky introduction to begin with, saw a four and a half hour mail outage yesterday. MacRumors mentioned this outage yesterday but also took a look at MobileMe's overall uptime which is about 96%. That's not an impressive number when you put it into perspective.

Apple Can Remotely Remove Bad Apps From Your iPhone

There are both pros and cons to the fact that Apple has so much control over iPhone application distribution. Apple Surprises Us With iPhone Firmware Update

Apple really surprised us by launching an update to the iPhone firmware last night. We knew that version 2.1 of the firmware was supposed to be coming in September sometime because it will have the push notification system for 3rd party apps that everybody has been talking about, but we definitely didn't know that Apple was working on 2.0.1.

Why DRM-Free Is The Way To Go

Amazon's DRM-free music service is really appealing these days. When it launched last September it got rave reviews because of the ease of use and the attractive prices, not to mention that whole DRM-free aspect. It was appealing when it launched and it's getting even more appealing these days because of the situation we're seeing with Yahoo right now.

App Store Averaging Millions of Downloads Each Day

Apple's App Store is now over two weeks old, and I have to say that overall I'm impressed with the variety of applications available for download. In the first three days of the launch over 10 million downloads were served up by Apple, and in the first 10 days that number increased to over 25 million downloads. No matter which way you slice it they're averaging millions of downloads each day.

Apple’s App Store to Introduce Beta Program

Ever since Apple's App Store launched, we have heard from developers complaining for various reasons. One complaint is that when they (the developers) make an update, it takes Apple too long (there have been reports of developers waiting up to 10 days) to make the update available to the masses.

Does Apple have a MacBook Touch in the Works?

If there was ever one new product that Apple would need to take their time with to make sure they did it right, it would be a tablet computer.
