Quickly Edit Any Content on a Website

There are times where you might want to change content on a site, but doing so with Chrome's built-in web developer tools can sometimes be a pain. With the Live Page Editor Chrome extension, however, all that changes because you can directly edit content on a site without having to dig through the source code of a page.

Quickly Enable/Disable Chrome Extensions

If you are one of the people that use dozens of extensions in Chrome then there is a good chance you're wasting memory that you don't have to be. Chrome lets you disable extensions on-the-fly so that they don't consume any resources until you enable them again. If you, for example, have some web development extensions installed you may only want them enabled when doing related work.

Get Rain Alerts in Chrome and Firefox

I hate when I'm sitting at work only to look out the window and realize that it is starting to rain. Then when I go to look at the radar it is a major storm that is moving in, and had I left 30 minutes earlier I wouldn't have had to worry about pulling out my umbrella.

Identify Web Fonts Used on Sites

When you go to a website you may see a font that looks interesting and sparks some curiosity as to what font type was used. There are all kinds of web developer tools that make finding this info pretty easy, but all you really need is the WhatFont bookmarklet. When you run the bookmarklet you'll be able to click on any of the text on the page you're viewing to see more details about it.

iReader for Chrome and Firefox Makes Reading Articles Easier

The Reader addition in Safari made it easier to read articles on websites, but that feature isn't unique to Safari. Most other browsers offer a similar option through the use of extensions, and one of my favorites is iReader for Chrome and for Firefox.

Best Wikipedia Chrome Extension

Wikipedia is definitely one of the sites I access the most, and most of the time it is just to quickly look up something I know they'll have on there. If I'm reading an article on another site I hate having to open a new tab just to search for something on Wikipedia, and that is where the Wikipedia Companion for Google Chrome comes in.

Preview Links on Wikipedia in Google Chrome

When you're reading an article on Wikipedia it can be annoying when you feel the need to continuously click the links that are referenced just to see what that word means or how it is relevant to what you're reading. For example, what if you wanted to find out the name of the actor that plays Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory sitcom.

Pandora Extension for Chrome Gets a New Home

Remember a few months ago when we wrote about that awesome unofficial Pandora extension for Chrome? A lot of people took a liking to it, but Pandora apparently didn't. The developer, Robert Alten, cares about his users enough that not long after the extension was pulled he started a thread asking what he can do.

Best Wolfram Alpha Chrome Extension

I'm a pretty big fan of both Google Chrome and Wolfram Alpha. When you merge the two some beautiful things start appearing, such as the Chromey Calculator extension that I mentioned last year. It's an excellent way to quickly perform both simple and complex calculations that most normal calculators would never be able to handle...

Edit Your Google Chrome Cookies

Most browsers will let you view the cookies stored for all the sites you visit, and Google Chrome isn't any different in that regard. This Google help article outlines how you can delete, block, allow, and make exceptions for cookies for any or all sites you visit. Why stop there though? You can take this a step further with the help of an extension.

Pandora Extension for Chrome is the Perfect Compact Player

I'm an avid Pandora listener, and for the most part I'm listening to the music when I'm on-the-go with my iPhone. I still like to have some tunes turned on while I'm working though, and for that I fall back to the web interface which can often feel clunky.

Minimalist Gmail for Google Chrome

When Gmail first came out I was extremely impressed with the interface, but the lack of updating kinda left me wanting more. Then Google rolled out the Gmail Labs back in 2008, which drew me back to the web-based mail client because there were some pretty cool features and capabilities getting added that couldn't be found in a desktop app.
