ZoneAlarm decided to be generous today and offer their Anti-Spyware application at absolutely no cost for 24-hours. The program is only for Windows XP/2000, and it will rollback to the normal $19.95 price tag on November 14th at 7AM PST.
Newegg is among the first retailers in the United States to start selling the much anticipated Asus Eee PC. They only have the version available (and in stock) which is equipped with the 4GB solid-state drive, and it costs $400 to pick it up. No, the cheaper 2GB model is not yet available.

As many of you probably know the free Avast! Home is my antivirus of choice, and there is a new Beta available for people running the recently released Windows Home Server (WHS). Anyone can download and install the Beta, and one of the big advantages that you'll receive by using it is the central management screen that's integrated into the WHS Console pictured above.
A press release was sent out yesterday regarding the new Linspire 6.0 Linux operating system that was just released. For those of you who haven't heard of Linspire before it's probably because you have to shell out $50 to buy it. The reason you have to pay for it is that it includes proprietary software, drivers, and codecs which make the operating system ready to use out-of-the-box.
Ever since I tried Mandriva 2007 I felt that it was well ahead of other Linux distributions, and the same feeling has sprung upon me today with the new Mandriva 2008. After looking at all of the features I couldn't help but think that this is HOT! JAlbum is a free cross-platform program that I've been using for years, and before I got my Flickr account it was my only way to share digital photos with my family. Stardock just launched WindowBlinds 6, and there is no doubt that this is what the next generation of skinning is all about! It completely supports the blurring of window borders and menus...for both Vista and XP. I guess you could say that it helps blur the line between the two operating systems.

There are a lot of Apple fans out there these days, and I have nothing against them. I don't use any Apple products aside from the iPod, but I do think it is good that they are emerging successful in the computer market so that there is more competition.
