Carbonite: Unlimited Online Backup Service

There are plenty of backup services available that offer small amounts of storage space at no cost, but very few offer unlimited storage. The first two that come to my mind is Allmydata which charges $4.99 a month for unlimited storage, and Mozy Home which charges $4.95 per month. So for about $60 per year you can walk away with all of your important data safely backed up.

Why Block YouTube Ads?

Right now I feel pretty bad for the YouTube team because of all the vulgar comments they’re receiving over the recent addition of video overlay ads. Most of the comments are irrelevant to helping YouTube improve the ad experience for the users, and if you decide to go look through the comments I’m sure you would see how immature some people can really be.

Isn’t it great when sites like Amazon are given information regarding a product, and they publish the details right away. I think Amazon is known for leaking pricing and release dates of items, and they’re at it again with the HP MediaSmart Home Server.

What’s Your Dream Laptop Like?

I was recently invited to join a group for HP regarding the future generations of laptops. They want myself, among others, to share our "." This is really a great idea, and in a way reminds me of Dell launching the IdeaStorm site.

Microsoft Works 9 to be Free, but Ad-Supported

Microsoft is taking a new approach to Microsoft Works 9 by offering it for free (was $49.95), but with advertisements. The suite of applications that come with the Works are an address book, calendar, database (like Excel), dictionary, PowerPoint Viewer, Word (basic functionality), and templates.
