Yesterday Opera Watch "tagged" me so that I would write about 5 things that could make Opera better. This is kind of like a game, and since I can normally come up with a list of improvements for nearly any application, I thought it would be kind of fun.
One of the features that many people overlook in Windows is the “Send To” menu that is presented when you right-click on a file or folder.
Google Talk is undoubtedly my favorite chat client because it is a wonderful little application that offers all of the right features. Well, it doesn’t quite offer everything because a lot of people would like to see the application interact with other messenger services, such as AIM.

FastStone Image Viewer 3.0 is moving along quite nicely and just the other day they released Beta 2. I have already raved about their screen capture utility (that is free as well) which we use quite heavily on our site, but the Image Viewer is sure to amaze you just as much.
Notepad++ is definitely my favorite Notepad replacement because of the extensive features that it has built-in. A lot of applications are going to tabbed interfaces these days and Notepad++ realized the importance of this early on, which is actually why I started using it in the first place.
I don't think that anyone would argue that getting used to Microsoft Office 2007's new interface takes some time. I've been using Beta 2 for what seems like forever (probably about 8 months in reality) and I finally feel comfortable being able to find the commands that used to reside on toolbars and menus in previous versions of Office.

It looks like Google just updated their Feed Reader Module for the Google Personalized Homepage. I'm sure that this is to help compete with Netvibes who offers an amazing built-in feed reader for their customizable homepage. The screenshot above demonstrates how the Feed Reader Module works.
If you are just the slightest bit familiar with Linux then I am sure that you have heard of XGL. It is what adds all of the realistic 3D effects to the windows that you drag around and the virtual desktops that you switch between.
What a Christmas present this was! Vista Transformation Pack 6 was just released yesterday with all kinds of new goodies including 3rd-party applications for providing features like Taskbar thumbnail previews and a remarkable sidebar just like Vista's.
Firefox 2 has received millions and millions of downloads in the first week which is absolutely amazing. Even though the browser is really great the best part of using it is being able to tweak it until your heart is content.
Keyboard shortcuts are a real time saver but they definitely take some getting used to. It is almost out of instinct that I reach for the mouse to perform a lot of my tasks but they can often be done much quicker if you learn how to use the keyboard as your primary input device.
Broadband Internet access is becoming standard in homes around the world. With fast Internet access comes file sharing, and that is where RapidShare comes in. RapidShare lets people upload files to their servers and they will host the files at no cost. This is a great solution but some people get annoyed with the limitations RapidShare places on free accounts.
Vista Transformation Pack 4.0 was just released and it does a great job of giving your XP machine the Vista look. In December last year Windows Blinds released a new version of their software that was designed to provide Windows XP with transparent effects, however, it wasn't free. That is where the Vista Transformation Pack comes into play.
Now, this is by no means a REAL fix for the Firefox memory leak, but it certainly does appear to help it quite a bit. This little fix will move Firefox to your hard drive when you minimize it, and as a result it will take up less than 10MB of memory while minimized. So far, from my experiences with using this today, when you maximize Firefox it will obviously increase the memory usage.
