It's here! Days like today come only twice a year for Ubuntu lovers. I'm talking about the operating system hitting yet another huge milestone, Ubuntu 7.10, which brings features like read/write support for NTFS drives, desktop search, Compiz Fusion, and more! Since we've already reviewed Ubuntu 7.10 back when it was in the Beta stage I thought I would take this time to detail Kubuntu 7.10!

Executor – Another Free Application Launcher

A few days ago we put together a list of the best application launchers, and as it turns out there were some that were mentioned by commenters which we had never heard of. FMsaziri mentioned one in particular, called Executor, that really caught my eye when I checked it out.

Vista SP1 Beta Coming This Month!

I know a large number of people have been holding out on upgrading to Vista until the first Service Pack is released, and that time might be coming before year’s end. According to unnamed sources that Mary Jo Foley has, a Beta version of Vista SP1 will be available mid-month...which is actually next week.

Google has stepped up their game with Google Desktop Search.  They’ve made several improvements to it, and just released Google Desktop 5 beta. People use Google Desktop Search as an easy, convenient way to search email, web pages that you’ve viewed, music, photos, and other things.
