We've covered a bunch of different ways in the past to find large files and folders on your system, and generally each have their limitations. I have yet to find a program that is both fast and provides a wealth of information, but the free GetFoldersize is inching closer to what I want.

Find Large Files on Your Mac

We've covered quite a few free disk space analyzers for Windows over the years, and I figured it would be worth throwing in one for Mac users as well. When it comes to a specific purpose like this the selection of free apps for Mac users is a lot more limited than it is on Windows, but that's not to say there are no good options available.

RidNacs: Free Disk Space Analyzer for Windows

There is no shortage of disk space analyzers available for Windows, and there's no doubt that we've covered our fair share of them. The truth is that these apps can be really useful when you're in a pinch, and I think that's why there are so many floating around. Use Portable TreeSize to Find Large Files and Folders

There have been a lot of disk space analyzers floating around lately that help you identify space-hogging files and folders on your hard drive. Disk Space Fan has a pretty interface, WinDirStat is a classic favorite, and there are all kinds of other ones available that accomplish the same kind of task.
