Google and eBay have been decently friendly to each other over the years despite their competing services. Recently eBay pulled their ads from Google’s AdWords program in the U.S. saying that it was part of an experiment “to look at how we market across all media channels.” However, there’s more to the story than just an experiment.

Many people are anticipating the arrival of the iPhone, and we all know that it’s expected to be released mid-June.  But, why plan on getting a normal iPhone when you could get a 14 Karat solid gold iPhone? Where can you get one? eBay of course!

A few days ago we wrote about Firefox Companion for eBay, which at the time was in the private alpha stage. They’ve moved along into a public beta, so now you can try it out for yourself. It’s really only worth it if you’re experienced with eBay and use them on a regular/semi-regular basis.

Last week we mentioned the Firefox Companion for eBay that had just been announced, and at the time it wasn’t yet open for the alpha test program. Recently we were able to download the extension and give it a try.

It never ceases to amaze me what people will do for money. Really, it’s appalling sometimes. I’ve seen some interesting eBay auctions before like people selling the free toiletries from hotels, but this is the first time I’ve seen people selling software that’s free from the developers on eBay.

According to TechCrunch, eBay is all set to acquire StumbleUpon, a popular web discovery site which helps users find new sites, and more recently videos.
