Gmail IMAP Help

Last week Gmail launched free IMAP support, which was one of the most user-requested features. We were fortunate and got the IMAP access to show up in our account simply by logging out and logging back in, but some of my friends are still sitting around waiting for it to show up in their accounts.

Gmail File Storage Solutions

A few weeks ago Google announced that they were rapidly increasing Gmail's storage space, and at the time it sat under 3GB. Now, however, it is at 4.28GB and by the end of this year we will have broken the 6GB barrier. You have all of that space to use, and that means there's never been a better time to use Gmail for file storage! ;)

How Have Your Email Habits Changed Over Time?

Yahoo Mail is celebrating their 10th birthday this month! They've been around for a decade, and between now and then, our email habits sure have changed. Yahoo's mail service originally started due to the acquisition of RocketMail. They were watching Hotmail sweep up thousands of users everyday, and knew they didn't have the time to create their own platform.

The Hunt for Gmail 2.0 Features

It's been over three years since Google opened their doors to their web-based email service called Gmail, which at the time shattered all existing storage limitations. To make Gmail a worldwide service Google has people translate phrases into their native language. Instead of spending money on professional translators they just enlist the help of common users who are fluent in multiple languages.

Thunderbird Organization Established — MailCo

It's been nearly two months since Mozilla originally announced that they were going to help Thunderbird "spread its wings," and it looks like we finally have a result of the talks. Mozilla has decided to branch Thunderbird off into its own subsidiary, and it will be started with $3 million in seed money that has been provided by the Mozilla Foundation.

New Live Installer, Live Writer, & Photo Gallery

It looks like Microsoft is pulling a Google and offering their most popular apps in a unified package. Well, it's not exactly like the Google Pack because Microsoft is only including their own homegrown programs, whereas Google also includes some third-party software (such as Norton and Skype).

What is Bacn?

I learned a new term over the weekend, and it’s called Bacn! What is Bacn? No, it’s not the delectable bacon that you eat for breakfast, instead it’s the new term for emails that are a cross between spam and personal mail. Here’s a message regarding Bacn from the people who coined the new word:

Switch to Hotmail from Gmail and Yahoo

Just last week we wrote about a service Yahoo! provides that lets you bring your existing emails, contacts, and calendar from your existing email account. What is Web 3.0? Google’s Eric Schmidt Tells Us

People have started to ask me "what is Web 3.0?" As with most of you I have no idea what to expect Web 3.0 to be, but if I had to guess it would be Web applications that can be taken offline in an instant. For example, you’re about to leave for a long trip and you want access to your email while you’re on the plane.

Cookies in Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo! Mail Pose Security Threat

Cookies are used in your web browser to store information, but have you ever thought about how easy it would be for a hacker to quickly gain access to them? It is actually frighteningly easy as Robert Graham, the CEO of errata security, demonstrated at the Black Hat security convention.
