Windows;  Linux We covered a log file viewer awhile back that served as an excellent way to open extremely large files. There's another app called Glogg that I found recently though that also does a greg job of handling large files, and comes equipped with some really nice features.

Edit CSV Files Without Excel

Windows only Sometimes it's nice to save spreadsheet as a CSV file because it's such a basic format that a lot of programs support it. If you're using Excel to work with CSV files it might be a little overkill, and maybe you'd instead be happier with a more basic editor such as the Tabular Text Editor.

Windows only There is something nice about finding an application that focuses on doing one thing, and doing that thing very well. That's how I feel about the Default Programs Editor app. It accomplishes a task I feel should be better managed in Windows itself, but with this no-install/portable program I start to forget about this shortcoming in Windows.
