3D Website Visualization with Tilt Firefox Extension

The Tilt 3D Firefox extension provides a unique view of any website using WebGL. It combs through the source code of a site and generates a 3D view that web developers may find useful. The extension's 3D view helps identify areas of the site that contain various HTML elements like a div, span, table, and many others.

Get Rain Alerts in Chrome and Firefox

I hate when I'm sitting at work only to look out the window and realize that it is starting to rain. Then when I go to look at the radar it is a major storm that is moving in, and had I left 30 minutes earlier I wouldn't have had to worry about pulling out my umbrella.

iReader for Chrome and Firefox Makes Reading Articles Easier

The Reader addition in Safari made it easier to read articles on websites, but that feature isn't unique to Safari. Most other browsers offer a similar option through the use of extensions, and one of my favorites is iReader for Chrome and for Firefox.

Why the CyberSearch Extension has been Discontinued

I've been getting at least a dozen emails a day asking when the CyberSearch extension would be getting updated for Firefox 4, but I have some bad news for everyone. Our extension was made possible thanks to Google's Web Search API, but they deprecated it back in November 2010 in favor of a new JSON Custom Search API. From a developer's point of view this kind of thing happens all the time...

Bing Has Been Removed from CyberSearch

In the last major update to our CyberSearch Firefox extension we decided to add in some basic support for Bing searching. It had been requested by quite a few users, and even though I personally prefer Google over Bing I wanted to make sure that our users had a choice. As it turns out the way our extension works doesn't abide by their terms of service.

Firefox 4 Beta 2 Will Break Many Extensions

As our regular readers know I am the developer behind the CyberSearch Firefox extension, and I wanted to say thanks to all of our users for their bug reports... and especially Ronin who pointed out a doozy. He keeps up with nightly Firefox builds, and is kind enough to point out when some of our extension's features break.

Live Bookmarks in Your Firefox Sidebar

Live Bookmarks are a feature that have been included in Firefox for ages, and have provided a simple way for you to subscribe to RSS feeds. They essentially act like dynamic bookmarks that are able to update as websites offer new content, and the Feed Sidebar extension makes it even navigate through the news they bring to you.

Customize the Firefox Address Bar Style/Appearance

There are some Firefox themes that I absolutely love, but they don't always get everything the way that I like them. One of the areas I'm rather particular about is the Address Bar drop-down menu that appears once you start typing. A good example of this was a theme I tested out recently that styled both the title and URL in the exact same fashion.
