Instant Google Results in the Firefox 3 Location Bar

One of the my favorite things in Firefox and Opera is having the ability to perform searches right from the location bar using keywords. In fact I've always removed the search box from the browser simply because I never use it. But when I found out about the Peers extension I thought it was going to be the extension that would actually get me to use the search box once and for all. I was wrong.

Helpful Tip: Preview iCal Calendars in Firefox 3

One of the things that Firefox 3 has really been pushing to do is make the browser more usable, and there are some nice things they've added to do just that. I'm not sure how often you deal with iCal calendars in your browser, but I come across them from time to time. Normally it's because of friends or family that want to share their schedules with me.

I know that some of you like to live on the dark side, and this Gmail theme will absolutely fill that burning desire. You'll need to be using Firefox and have Stylish installed in order for it to work, and I have to admit that this is one of the most complete Gmail themes that I've ever seen.

CyberNotes: Safari 3 Style Inline Search in Firefox

One of the things that I've always enjoyed in Safari 3 is the inline search interface, and just the other day I thought I would peruse around the Internet trying to find a way to do the same thing in Firefox. Why is searching special in Safari? Because it dims the background of the page that you're on, and highlights the matching results as you type.

Run Downloads in Firefox Instead of Saving Them

One of the things that has always bugged me about Firefox is that when you go to download a file it will only let you save it to your computer. Some other browsers, such as Internet Explorer, also give you an option to "run" the file.

Firefox Live Bookmarks in the Sidebar

From our 7,000+ feed subscribers I'm surprised to see that over 600 of those readers are still using the rather simple Firefox Live Bookmarks to keep up on the news. I've always found the Live Bookmarks system to be overly simple since the only part of the feed that is made available is the title of the article. I guess the simplicity is what draws the users in though.

Helpful Tip: Paste Multiple Lines in Input Boxes

Have you ever been in Firefox and wanted to paste multiple lines of text into a single-line text field? You know, like in the example above where there is an address which has been placed on two different lines, but if you paste that into the Google Maps search field it will cutoff anything on the second line.
