Nocs: A Text Editor That Syncs with Google Docs

As a geek I always find myself firing up Notepad because of how fast it is, plus it's nice not being flooded with toolbar buttons. A free utility called Nocs will cater to those that feel the same way about Notepad, but also want some sort of synchronization with Google Docs.

Google Docs Gets Dictionary and Table of Contents Features

Previously if you wanted to insert a Table of Contents into your Google Docs document, or look-up the definition of a word, you had to use some JavaScript to make it happen because Google hadn't officially launched the features. Now they have and they are easily available to users.

Unofficial Google Desktop Suite

It's always surprised me that Google has a few desktop applications (Picasa, Google Desktop Search, Google Talk, etc...), but for one reason or another they don't have any programs that leverage some of their other big services. Having a program for Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs, and several others would all make a lot of sense in my book.

Are Photo Albums Coming to Google Docs?

Google Docs as we know it today includes mainly Documents, Spreadsheets, and Presentations, but it looks as though soon it will include Photo Albums as well. The Google Operating System blog points out how using information from Google's code, you are able to get a list of items you can create in Google Docs which include Photo Albums. Google Docs Gets Impressive Templates Gallery

One of the features that Google Docs has been "missing" to make it a complete online office suite is templates. I've used templates in Microsoft Office on multiple occasions whether it be for a resume, a brochure, or a newsletter, and for some, they are a necessity. Google Docs hasn't offered anything like that until now.

Google Docs Adds PDF Upload Support

We knew it was coming, but it's not even close to everything we were hoping it would be. Google announced just a short while ago that Google Docs users could begin uploading, storing, and reading PDF's on their Google account. It's nothing fancy, and for the most part it does the basic things you would expect from an online PDF viewer.
