When everybody was making their predictions of what Apple would announce at Macworld 2008, a 16GB iPhone was usually on the list.
These days Internet access is available almost anywhere you go. Even if you refuse to pay for wireless Internet through your cellphone carrier, there are normally plenty of hotspots around town for you to stop in on. Once you get connected you can whip out a mobile device, such as a Pocket PC or cellphone, and blog away.
One of the big peeves that I had with the new iPhone and iPod Touch firmware update yesterday was that Apple doesn't give much control over the webclip icons. That's when you bookmark a website to the home screen, and the iPhone snaps a screenshot of the upper-left corner of the screen to assign as the icon.
Apple has always had a "clearance items" section on their site which includes products that are discounted for some reason or another, but it hasn't always included some of the deals that they're currently offering. If you're considering buying an iPod and you don't care about having the latest generation, you'll certainly want to checkout what they have.

Looking for a good deal on an iPod Touch? Here it is... Amazon has the 8GB iPod Touch on sale for $269.99 from the original price of $299. According to Pricegrabber, the lowest elsewhere is $284, but then of course you'd have to pay shipping. Over at Amazon you'll get it for $269.99 shipped.
Six years ago today on October 23, 2001, the very first iPod was brought to life.
I think Apple needs to start taking some of their cues from hackers because they are truly demonstrating what the masses want. When the iPhone was originally released hackers were forced to find a way to get real third-party applications onto the device, and it didn't take long for that to happen. Now Apple is trying to make amends by releasing a true SDK in February for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
Apple has made iPhone and iPod Touch users extremely happy today by announcing the forthcoming Software Development Kit (SDK). In February developers will be able to get their hands on the SDK which will let them create true third-party applications without needing any hacks!
